The Auto Dentz Difference

Why Use Paintless Dent Removal Instead of Body Work?

We specialize in Paintless Dent Repair, or PDR—a vastly underrated reconditioning method that is of the highest quality for a fraction of the price. On top of that, we offer several other services. Read on.

If you need a quote or estimate, visit the Request An Estimate page, where you can upload a picture of your damaged vehicle for our consideration.

Paintless Dent Repair

PDR repairs dings in doors, small dents, creases, hail damage, and the like. In PDR, special tools are used to gently apply pressure to specific points of the dent, ultimately molding the metal back to its original condition. The process originated in auto factories four decades ago when it was used to remove dents from cars on the assembly lines. It wasn’t until the 1980s that it became possible to use the same methods to repair vehicles for the public.

PDR will repair your vehicle to pre-damaged condition as long as your OEM (original equipment materials) paint remains intact.

The benefits of PDR over conventional body work include:

  • no fillers or refinishing
  • repair times from one hour
  • repair costs at a fraction of conventional repairs

How Long Should Auto Body Repair Time Take?

How long auto body repair time takes depends upon many factors. Here, we will give you some guidelines for what to expect. Keep in mind, these are only estimates, and every repair is unique to a host of variables.

1 Day For Every Repair over $500.00

Your technician will advise you on an estimated completion date once an estimate is given. Drop offs are typically on Tuesdays at 10:00. Repairs under $500.00 are normally one business day unless notified by your tech.

Let’s take a look at some of the factors to consider.

First, repairs will be done properly. That may sound ridiculous, but we mention it because so often, other repair shops promise faster repairs when you take your car to their ‘preferred’ body shops. For extremely difficult repairs, we follow OEM procedures and require pre and post scans. Other paintless dent repair shops are not following these same guidelines and there should be concerns that your vehicle can be seriously mishandled and consequences down the road could be costly or dangerous if the safety systems are compromised.

  • We take our time with our paintless dent repair process to avoid cracking the paint on your vehicle.  If you are going through insurance, it is highly recommended that you arrange for a rental that is typically covered by the insurance company or provided at a reduced cost per day.
  • You may have damage that can’t be seen originally. It’s very common for a repair to require supplemental estimates as the work begins. When a vehicle is impacted, the visible harm is usually only the tip of the damage iceberg. Whatever new damage is discovered will have an impact upon how long it takes to repair your car. We will handle any filing and communications for supplements with insurance companies on behalf of our customers.
  • Replacement parts may be unavailable. Depending upon what type of car you drive, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts may need to be ordered from other countries. Sometimes those parts are backordered, making it even more difficult to affect a speedy repair.
